Red Shoes 3   oil    12x11

$200

Here's the third painting of the triptych. I'm in the process of switching to water miscible/soluble oils. Looking at these paintings from February makes me see that I need to work on making the water soluble oils juicier.  My edges in these little red shoe paintings are freer, have more gesture, use thicker paint than the last couple of paintings I've done with the new paint.

Red Shoes 2    oil  12x11

The second red shoes painting. I scattered blue paint for the background.  Started with red but thought it looked too much like there had been an accident.

I have a triptych of these little red shoes.  One of my students (thanks Barb) brought them into class.  They are just the right size, not too small not too big.  And very red.

Sweeping Upwards   oil   16x8

Part of the beet bondage series.  I'll be posting more tied and strung onions. There's something vaguely compelling about them.  This one has a faintly Japanese air.

Different Directions  oil  13 x 11

I've been working on a series I call beet bondage.  Here's a preview- tied up, tied down, stretched, wound around itself- it's been fun.  I've barely scratched the surface. I'll post more in the coming months.

Goldfinch Heaven  oil  12x9

Here's the rest of Bob's garden from a plein air perspective.  The goldfinches love the sunflowers and everything was glinting with gold, the flowers and the birds. I went twice to catch it all.  Apparently all the sunflowers are volunteers.
